• This cordierite (iolite) sphere has a wonderful grey-violet color and it has a nice polish. Iolite, is the older name for the stone and (not sure why) it is considered obsolete; cordierite is the new name.
• The pictures of this cordierite or iolite sphere were taken outdoors in sunlight and color variations from the actual stone are possible.
• Iolite is considered a major stone for, among others, healing and meditation. It also "balances the male/female aspects of ones character".
