• This azurite sphere has beautiful colors, great polish, and exhibits a lot of detail (small fine lines shown in the photos are crystals endings and show their orientation).
• Azurite is a copper mineral like malachite. In fact, there is some bright green malachite and a little cuprite (also a copper mineral) visible in the photos.
• Azurite is very difficult to work with. Therefore, one rarely sees an azurite sphere unless it is reconstituted or it is a small part of a rock with other copper minerals such as malachite, shattuckite, cuprite etc.
