Here's a beautiful anhydrite sphere from Madagascar.
The sphere has a very good purple color (usually anhydrite is white) and it is very chatoyant. Anhydrite, is anhydrous calcium sulfate (hydrated calcium sulfate is the more known gypsum)
It is said that anhydrite "...has been used...to provide for loving communication with those of a different mind."
