Kyanite Sphere Large Blue Gemstone Crystal Ball - 3.6"D 90 mm Brazil, spr16

Dale made this outstanding Brazilian kyanite sphere from a very large piece of kyanite.
The workmanship and quality of the material are both excellent and the sphere has a great polish.
Kyanite is a very difficult material to work with and it takes care and skill to make a sphere of this quality. The difficulty comes from the directionality of the hardness of this material; i.e. the hardness is different depending on whether cutting across the crystal or lengthwise.
This kyanite sphere is full of beautiful blue and chatoyant crystals in quartz and mica and it is a rare collector's item.
In addition to its many other properties, it is said that kyanite "facilitates meditation" and "it provides for balancint the yin-yang energies"
