• Here's a wonderful and rare sphere; it is made of vesuvianite, or idocrase, from Pulga, N. California. Other names for this material are Californite and Pulga jade.
• The color of this idocrase sphere is pinkish peach with one area of pale bluish green.
• Dale, the sphremaker, not only made the sphere but also he found the rough rock a few years ago during one of our rockhunting trips. The sphere is of excellent workmanship, translucent, and it has a great polish.
• This idocrase or vesuvianite sphere is rare and a great collector's item.
• Its approximate weight is 2 lbs 3 oz, and it measures about 3.2" in diameter or 81 mm.
