this beautiful metal sphere.
- This metal
may look like meteorite but it is not. It is called cumberlandite
and it comes from Rhode Island, USA. It is an iron rich material
but it contains many minerals.
- Cumberlandite surfaced
about 1.5 billion years ago from a volcanic erruption
- This
cumberlandite sphere is of outstanding workmanship and has a great
polish.
- There are
healed fractures and hairline cracks visible in the photos and very
common in this material and in general metals.
- The pictures
of this cumberlandite sphere were taken outdoors in sunlight and
color variations from the actual stone are possible.
- Cumberlandite is the Rhode
Island State rock and this sphere is a great collector's
item.
