This jasper is so unusual not so much for the spiderweb patterns, which are awesome, but the knobs , nooks, and crannies it has throughout.
Those "irregularities" are caused by nodules embedded into the jasper and when they pop out they leave a raw void behind.
One can avoid those rough looking voids when making cabs but not so easily when making spheres because they are all over. Having said all that, I think this jasper is wonderful and the nooks and crannies give it a lot of character
Dale made this beautiful sphere and his workmanship is excellent. However, the material had too many nooks and crannies including a large one visible in the photos. Altough not collectors' grade, the sphere is large, impressive and excellent for decor. The price of the sphere has been reduced.
