|
- Dale made
this rare vesuvianite sphere. The original crystal was a host for
yellow garnets but the garnets were too small. So Dale decided to
cut it and make a sphere instead.
- The material
is gemmy, translucent, and it has a beautiful yellow/brown
color.
- Vesuvianite
is also called idocrase and looks like garnet. Vesuvianite was
originally found on Mt. Vesuvius in Italy, and hence its name. This
vesuvianite comes from Mali, Africa.
- It is said
that vesuvianite
(idocrase) "...can be used to dispel anger, to banish depression,
and to allay fear".
