  This sphere is made of the super rare petrified paleo-osmunda fern from Central Queensland, Australia. The sphere is large, beautiful, very nicely agatized, exhibits a great detail, and it has a great polish. Dale, the spheremaker, made the sphere and he did an outstanding job. There are sealed hairline fractures (visible in the photos) not affecting the integrity of the sphere. Fractures are very common in fossils. This paleo-osmunda sphere is super rare collector's item and most likely one of only a few in the world (Dale has made only three).
