This is an absolutely gorgeous sphere. The colors are out of this world (or better from the guts of this world)!
Dale, the SphereMaker, made this exquisite sphere from a new material that comes from the immediate area of a volcano, Mt. Papandayan, in Indonesia.
The stone is a mixture of various minerals with sulfur one of the prominent ones (even the finished sphere has a slight sulfur odor). I would not discount the presence of toxic minerals such as arsenic so please, if you buy this sphere, do not lick it or make tea from it. If you work with rough bumblebee, it is a good idea to use personal protective gear.
Bumblebee "Jasper" is rather soft so it is not a jasper.
Bumblebee jasper, in addition to the stunning colors, it has very intricate lace-like pattern.
This Bumblebee Jasper sphere is rare and an outstanding collectors' item.

The workmanship and quality of the material are both excellent and the sphere has a great polish. Kyanite is a very difficult material to work with and it takes care and skill to make a sphere of this quality. The difficulty comes from the directionality of the hardness of this material; i.e. the hardness is different depending on whether cutting across the crystal or lengthwise.
This kyanite sphere is full of beautiful blue and chatoyant crystals in quartz and it is a rare collector's item.
