Petrified Pine Cone Section Polished
- Patagonia spf2

|
Description:
- This is a very special and rare
fossil; it is a section of a petrified pine cone from our personal
collection. We acquired our collection many years ago when pine
cones were accessible. Now, these pine cones are not accessible
since their export is prohibited.
- This section is obviously from a very large cone
(see its dimensions below), it is very nicely agatized, and it has
pretty red color. I believe, this section is from an araucaria
elongata pine cone but I am certainly not an expert in fossil pine
cones.
- The back side of this pine cone section has a
chunk missing (visible in the photos).
- The photos were taken outdoors in sunlight and
color variations from the actual are possible. Display stand is not
included.
- Approximate size based on the largest
dimensions: 3.75"X2.5"X1.5"
- Approximate weight: 9 Oz

Petrified Peanut Wood Conifer
Polished Specimen - Australia spf3

|
Description:
- This is a very lovely, large,and
polished specimen of peanut wood, some species of conifer, from
Australia.
- Peanut Wood is not really peanut wood; peanuts
grow undergound and not on a tree. It is
called "peanut" wood because of the peanut-shape cream color
inclusions. These "peanuts" used to be holes left behind by
burrowing teredo mollusks. These holes filled with matter which was
eventually replaced by chert when the wood fossilized.
- The photos were taken outdoors in sunlight and
color variations from the actual are possible. Display stand is not
included.
- Approximate size based on the largest
dimensions: 8"X5.5"X3.25"
- Approximate weight: just over 6 lbs
- Check out our spheres, eggs,
and other products

$275.00
